Guest Man T Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 I got home and office pc are both XP SP3. Any suggestion how do I access my work PC from home? How do I get my work PC exposed to 'public'?

Guest Gary S. Terhune Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Re: Remote access from home Is the Office PC installed with Windows XP Professional or some other version? Is it on a domain(server)-controlled network or just a stand-alone or part of a workgroup? -- Gary S. Talk to them on how to access your work host from home. If they haven't setup a secure means of allowing remote access then you doing such is a violation of their policies. Remember that it is NOT your property. It is THEIR property. If they deliberately choose not to allow remote access to their work hosts then you don't do work from home (that uses those hosts). Do you think they would also allow you to tap into their business phone system to listen in on conversations from home without their permission?
Guest Gary S. Terhune Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Re: Remote access from home You're assuming an awful lot. Could be "the office" or "work" simply refers to a small professional's office where the OP is actually the one in charge and the network, if any, is a simple peer-to-peer workgroup setup. Could be it's a simple matter of configuring firewalls. Which is why I asked the questions I asked. -- Gary S.
