What Printers are Available per TS Session

On a windows 2003 TS.

If a user logs into TS what printers should they see.

I would think they would see shared printers that are configured on the TS

plus any local (to their PC) printers that are dynamically created on the TS

for use by that session (would not see other session printers). How wrong

am I? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

If redirection is enabled, they should see (assuming the print drivers get

installed as well) their client printers from the endpoint, they should see

whatever is mapped for them in a login script or whatever, they should see

any printers created on the TS box itself. i think that covers it.

Re: What Printers are Available per TS Session

The problem I'm having is that everyone appears to be able to see everyone

elses printers including their own. I thought this was only available to

print administrators.

Yes, that should only be possible for administrators, power users

or printer operators. Check membership of a user by typing "whoami

/groups" (without the quotes) in a cmd window in an rdp session.

Note: Some applications, for example Lotus Notes 5.5 and Microsoft

Excel 2002, may display redirected printers from other sessions,

for which users have no permissions.

You can solve this with a free utility from ThinPrint:

MyPrinterView

http://www.thinprint.com/index.php?s=4321&lc=61

But if users see all printers from withing Start menu - Printers,

then chances are that they have too much user rights.
