Intel 915 chipset and drivers for W98?

Looking to buy an IBM laptop with Intel's 915 chipset. IBM's web site

shows support/compatibility from W2K upward, no W98 support (I guess

because of the chipset).

Googled for info, found some but there is still a question about proper

USB2 support (seems you can get 1.1 but not 2) and ANY audio support

(there is none!). Decided to ask here; anybody ever try to get 98

running with Intel's 915 chipset? Did you succeed? You know where

drivers are available?

Thanks

I've seen conflicting info regarding win-98 drivers for the 915

chipset. It might depend on the particular sub-model of the 915.

You might want to search previous posts on this web-forum:

Have a look at these:

Yes, I've noticed that too. Thanks for the links, they'll keep me busy

for a while seeing if the GM sub-model is supported

Thanks!
