Guest Jim Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 I read through many of the other inputs, but some of the links are no longer active. In the path bar the "Shared documents" shows up in the path bar as "documents". Initially, the path lead to some confusion when I was trying to find the missing documents folder that was in the path of file.
Guest Kelly Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Re: "Shared documents" Folder Is Displayed As "documents" In Path Hi Jim, See if this helps and good luck! Go to Start/Run/Regedit and verify this key and values: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Explorer\My Computer\NameSpace\DelegateFolders Sub-key named {59031a47-3f72-44a7-89c5-5595fe6b30ee}. If this subkey is not present, you will not have the group: Other files stored on this computer. If you delete this, all of the Shared Documents folders (which are normally under the group called "Other Files Stored on This Computer") will be gone. You do not need to reboot your system to see the change. -- All the Best, Kelly (MS-MVP/DTS&XP) Taskbar Repair Tool Plus! http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/taskbarplus!.htm SupportSpace http://www.supportspace.com/pages?aiu=kellyskorner "Jim" <Jim@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:1DB9820C-094F-4530-9594-D55729F4C8ED@microsoft.com... >I read through many of the other inputs, but some of the links are no >longer > active. Guest Jim Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Re: "Shared documents" Folder Is Displayed As "documents" In Path Is this going to dump the Shared documents folder? I just was wondering why is the shared documents folder being displayed in the path as "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents" Instead of "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents" Of course then that begs to ask also about Shared Music displaying as My Music and Shared pictures displaying as My Pictures and Shared Video as My Videos. Thanks!
