Guest sulimo Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Have windows 2003 Standard server, 64 bits. Was running smoothly until last automatic update. Since then I'm getting random "...file missing or corrupt \system32\drivers\ntfs.sys " errors. Hitting any key resets the Pc and OS would load normally. Yet every now and then, error would happen again. Have recovered, replaced RAM, etc. Yet error would remain. Any clue?
Guest Dusko Savatovic Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Re: corrupt ntfs.sys I would suspect hardware in the following order: - Write cache on Disk/RAID controller - RAM modules (you've already done that) - System cache memory - Power Supply - Disk drive - Some other component (motherboard, controller, processor etc) "sulimo" <sulimo@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:B197BB42-5DDA-4BAD-BDA7-137A21439047@microsoft.com... > Have windows 2003 Standard server, 64 bits.
