Guest pie8ter Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 We have more than twenty windows 2003 SP2 servers in our datacenter. I use remote desktop (RDP) to manage these servers. When I reboot the servers through RDP connection, sometimes the server doesn't let me RDP again after it reboots. I physically have to go to the server room, open the rack, login and reboot the server again. Then I can make the RDP connection. Admin and application modes are enabled on the servers. This issue has caused me great pain when I reboot the servers from home. I am not sure why this is happening in all the servers. Thanks

To save you a trip to server room, you can perform remote reboot by using the shutdown.exe command line tool: shutdown.exe /m \\RemoteServer /r /t: 0 /f -- This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
