Guest Jeff Pitsch Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Re: does i need cal 2008 ? Yes you will need normal Windows CAL's as well. You should always, though, refer to your Microsoft Licensing specialist for absolute answers. -- Jeff Pitsch Microsoft MVP - Terminal Services "NT" <nt29@community.nospam> wrote in message news:865F0A53-5EC0-4835-AD8B-89F3E82C096F@microsoft.com... > hello > > i have a domain with a DC2003 > > I buy in the past 70 CAL for 2003 fpr my 70 users. > > I buy this month a new server windows 2008 for 10 peoples this server will > be a TSE for a special software > > all the files or print server are on windows 2003 servers > > for me i need CAL TSE 2008 for 10 peoples but does i need CAL 2008 ? > > > thanks for the explanations .
Guest Morgan che Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 RE: does i need cal 2008 ? Hi, I agree with Jeff. You also needs Windows OS Cal. The following statement is what I abstracted from Terminal server licensing white paper for your reference. "The Terminal Services Licensing service is only associated with licensing for a terminal server client. It is not used to license any other application or service, and does not replace or interoperate with the licensing service for any other component, or alter your rights and obligations under any End User License Agreement (EULA). Per the Windows Server EULA, licenses are required to be purchased to access a terminal server. There is no provision in the EULA for accessing a terminal server without the appropriate licenses." If you have any follow-up question, to obtain more accurate assistance, you can call 1-800-426-9400 (select option 4), Monday through Friday, 6:00 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. (PST) to speak directly to a Microsoft licensing specialist. Worldwide customers can use the Guide to Worldwide Microsoft Licensing Sites http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/index/worldwide.asp to find contact information in their locations.
