Guest Saucer Man Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I purchased a cert to digitally sign my .rdp files. We are using RemoteAPP and we were getting these warnings... Title Bar: Open File - Security Warning Message: The publisher could not be verified. Are you sure you want to run this software? Name: u:\folder\program.exe Publisher: Unknown Publisher Type: Application From: u:\folder\program.exe Run button Cancel button This file does not have a valid digital signature that verifies its publisher. You should only run software from publishers you trust. How can I decide what software to run? I installed the Cert and configured RemoteAPP to digitally sign the .rdp files per another thread. Now I get an error when trying to launch the .rdp file. It is... This RDP File is corrupted. The remote connection cannot be started. How can I correct this? -- Thanks!
Guest Vera Noest [MVP] Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Re: Problem digitally signing .rdp files I'm sorry, I don't know what caused this. But I remember one single poster here a couple of months ago claiming that digitally signing rdp files created corrupted rdp files. I've Googled, but can't find the post anymore, but am sure about the content. A lot of people *are* signing rdp files successfully, so it can't be a general bug. If I were you, I'd call Microsoft support. _________________________________________________________ Vera Noest MCSE, CCEA, Microsoft MVP - Terminal Server TS troubleshooting: http://ts.veranoest.net ___ please respond in newsgroup, NOT by private email ___ "Saucer Man" <saucerman@nospam.com> wrote on 27 aug 2008 in microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services: > I purchased a cert to digitally sign my .rdp files. Guest Saucer Man Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Re: Problem digitally signing .rdp files Apparently there really was some corruption in the .rdp files. After re-creating the .rdp files, the error went away. However, the original problem still exists. So I am going back to the thread titled 'How do you prevent the security warning "unknown publisher" for all users?' Thanks.
