Install Printer Win Server 2003

Recommended Posts

Hi:

I'm trying to install a printer, on Windows Server 2003, for a user wich

belongs to "Remote Desktop User" group.

I run this command:

rundll32 printui.dll PrintUIEntry /if /f %windir%\inf\ntprint.inf /r

"IP_192.49.9.89" /m "HP LaserJet 2100"

The TCP/IP port is not installed before I run this command, because, if I

add the port with Admin account the port is going to be accessible to all

profiles of the others users

A message appears "Operations could not be completed", then the printer is

not added.

The final goal, is to install on the user profile a printer that will be

accessed by a TCP/IP address.

Ports and drivers can only be added by Admin and Power Users account users.

Re: Install Printer Win Server 2003

Perhaps you should consider adjusting permissions on the printer.

For example, you can remove default permissions and set specific

permissions:

- UserGroupXYZ - Print Permission

- Administrators - Print, Manage Documents, Manage Printers
