Guest Dab Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Hi I have a driver on a print server which functions correctly. The other day I changed a setting so it would duplex on both sides. Since when I print from a client to that driver I get and info bubble appear in the bottom right hand corner of my screen on the client PC. Does anybody know why and how to remove it? The bubble says: This document was sent to the printer Document Name: Microsoft word-Test.doc Printer Name:\\xxxxxxx\HP 9050-pcl6 Time: xx:xx Total Pages: 1 Thanks

In the File menu click on Server Properties and go to the Advanced tab. Uncheck the box Notify when remote documents are printed. Best greetings from Germany Olaf

Go to Control Panel > Admin Tools > Services. Look for a service or two services called PML DRIVER HPZ12, set them to disabled, and stop them. We have 9040s here and the driver installed TWO services that I can see. Some older HP models install one service. Additionally, open Control Panel > Printers. Right-click and do a Properties on the printer. Go to the Advanced tab and click the Print Processor. HP drivers hijack this all the time and it works in tandem with the two services (PML Driver) that run in the background and pop up the annoying bubble. If it's set to anything other than Winprint, set it back to Winprint, click Apply and then OK. You should not have to reboot for the changes to take effect but try printing now. Let me know how it goes. - Thee Chicago Wolf
Guest Dab Posted August 29, 2008 Posted August 29, 2008 Re: Printing info bubble Do the changes have to be made on each client or can this be done on the server so the clients need not be touched? Yes, I would recommend it on the server but if the clients have the same driver set as the server, the clients will still likely pop up the annoying box. The only way to know for sure is to give it a try. - Thee Chicago Wolf
