SP 3's Warning: "The server you are connected to is uding a security certificate that cannot be verified"

XP Pro SP3

With SP3 came this new warning:

"The server you are connected to is using a security certificate that cannot be verified"

How can I stop this warning! The server is an ATT IP server over which I have no control.

Now every time I get email this appears. It is annoying.

TIA for any or all thoughts and fixes.

Go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com | Install any requisite software

(e.g., ActiveX Control required to use the site) | Continue | Select CUSTOM

& scan | Select any critical security updates offered | In Optional Software

Updates section, select Root Certificates update | Install selected updates,

following all prompts.

Thank you for your time and knowledge

After completing the suggestion, the issue still exists.

Any other thoughts? I am interested as to why the IE version issue as the problem was related to

SP3 and Outlook (meaning my email servers' certificates)?

There should still be a clickable selection on the displayed page that will allow you to

continue on to the requested website.

Have you tried FireFox or Opera ?

What is the URL ?

Contact your ISP (and please stop snipping your replies!)

What makes you feel I snipped anything as I did not? Another sign of MS hubris.

Normally, MS permits the user to set levels of security and said response back to the end user.

Where is that option in this case?

I am getting the feeling that MS is forcing users via an annoying display on the User to force the

User to force IP's to obtain a MS certificate for which MS is compensated. Yet to be another failed

attempt by MS to force MS's systems into the free world.

Have you tried Firefox as someone has already suggested to see if the

problem goes away? Or just dismiss the warning message each time and go

on your merry way...

Sorry, it was all Forte Agent's fault.
