Click Start / Run / msconfig.exe, then click the Startup tab. Now locate the entry LUProdRg.exe and remove the tick in front of it.

The OP's error message of C\WINDOWS\TEMP\LUProdRg.exe demostrates that the offending file has already been deleted.

Yes it is,and since it is an Symantec update file the poster needs to reinstall Nortom. -- Mike Pawlak

Are you suggesting that this Norton product installs an executable in the %temp% directory? Or could it be that some malware created an executable of the same name as the Symantec update file, and that the OP's virus scanner subsequently deleted it but left a reference to it in the registry?
Guest MAP Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Re: Error constantly showing on start up Hi Pegasus, Here's my so called logic, but since the op hasen't responed on wheather he even has a Symantec product installed it's kind of a moot point. Googling "LUProdRg.exe" it seems that it is the update exe. for Symantec products and I was thinking that the install was corupted in some way hence the reinstall, now I'm leaning more in the way that the windows installer is corupted and using the cleanup utility might be more of a fix, this has happened to me in the past and in the op's original msg. the error looks like one that would popup with a corrupted windows installer file. Apon bootup "LUProdRg.exe" will start to check for updates and if the installer needs a cleanup this error will popup. Have a good day. -- Mike Pawlak "Pegasus (MVP)" wrote: > > "MAP" <mikepawlak2REM@OVEhotmail.com> wrote in message > news:u9O5b9RDJHA.3908@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > > > > Yes it is,and since it is an Symantec update file the poster needs to > > reinstall Nortom. > > > > -- > > Mike Pawlak > > I am puzzled.
