Guest dirtydavid Posted August 30, 2008 Posted August 30, 2008 My laptop retired last week, so I have retrieved the hard drive and now want to recover the data from it. I have put the drive into a case and plugged it in via the usb ports on my new machine. There were 2 user accounts on the drive, one account I can get into and have recovered everything. The second user account will not allow me any access. Everything I try I get the error message - f:\documents and settings\andies\my documents is not accessible Access is denied. I have tried creating a user account with the same name on the new machine - still denied Booted from the hard drive, still access denied. Can anyone tell me how to get past this please? David
