RE: Novel Applications Access from Internet

If you can load the Novell Client on Server 2008 you could install or access

those applications from Terminal Services, then be able to access all of

these applications with only the Remote Desktop Client, meaning you wouldn no

longer need to maintain these software packages on the remote computers, and

you would only need a limited amount of bandwidth to serve these applications

to end users. Client/Server databound applications receive the most benefit

from hosting on Terminal Services, as these are typically the most bandwidth

intensive when run in client/server mode across a WAN.

Another option if the Novell Client doesn't work on Server 2008 is to

virtualize Windows XP or Vista on Microsoft Hyper-V and access those in the

same way that you would Terminal Services. This could be done manually or

via a connection broker like our Provision Networks Virtual Access Suite.

Re: Novel Applications Access from Internet

Hi,

I've the same scenario working on Windows 2003 Terminal server whrere i'm

having the Novel Applicatation Launcher installed, and i just added the NEW

Windows Server 2008 TS Gateway so i'm able to access Novel based

Applications from internet without the need of initiating a VPN.

Regards,

Waleed Omar
