Probably an easy question.

I have a black screen that comes on when the computer is not used for about

15 mins. But it's not the screen saver. Someone I had worked with told me

how to change it before, but I forgot how, and ever since my computer was

reformatted or something, it comes back on all the time. It's very annoying

when watching movies, Etc.

Does anyone know what I am talking about or how to change it?

Does F5 kick the monitor back in? Control Panel | Display | Screen Saver Tab

| Power. What's it the Turn Off Monitor field?

What does F5 do? - stop the screen saver or power-up the monitor?

That’s the power-saving function to conserve energy when your system is idling

(no keyboard or mouse activity for x amount of time). You can configure those

settings in Control Panel->Power Options. Even better, check your media player’s

settings for an option to disable screensavers/power options while playing.

Re: Probably an easy question.

If your screen saver power options turn the monitor off, F5, (almost any

key, actually), will turn the monitor back on.
