Services / Event Viewer Windows

I have desktop shortcuts for each of these and have set the properties to

open maximized, but every time I open them they are in a very small window

which is good for nothing. How can I set them to open maximized, or have

them retain their size? Thanks.

I also had this. Microsoft was very lame in their possible solutions

so someone came up with a separate application:

Start -> Run

MMC

File -> Open

%windir%\system32\services.msc

File -> Options

uncheck "Do not save changes to this console"

maximize the window, close it, answer "Yes"

Do so for all MMC plugins you want to have maximized.

How to configure Services MMC Snap-In

http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/configure-services-mmc-to-open-in-standard-view-by-default/

by Ramesh Srinivasan

Basically, MMC Windows, save settings:

Add "/a" to path, for example:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\mmc.exe /a C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\gpedit.msc

Opens Group Policy in Author mode, under which you can set column views and window size.

To save your settings: File > Save.
