Guest Steve44 Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 I had a non-validated copy of Windows XP on my computer, came with the computer, so I bought an XP upgrade. I installed it by booting through the CD drive and installed it into a different file. When I went to install all the udates, it said that the site was not available. I tried a couple of different ways, and still could not get it to work. Another thing I would like to do is transfer all the documents and settings to the newly installed XP. Any suggestions?? thanks
Guest Bob I Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Re: installing XP XP Upgrade? What are you going to use as the qualifying software/operating system? You still don't have a valid operating system, so you need one of those first. You will need a an install CD for Windows 2000, Windows 98 or Windows 95 before you have a legit system.
