Guest aligatrjoe Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 -- Bill W Windows Explorer no longer lists the C:\ drive. It does list the My Documents folder under the Desktop. I recently defragged the disk and ran chkdsk c: /f from a CMD window. Also ran chkntfs c: from a cmd window. Help

Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 RE: Windows Explorer XP doesnt run CHKDSK C: /F in windows explorer,it requires a reboot to run the utility.Maybe run Sfc /Scannow then CHKDSK C: /F Maybe create a new user account after,the current account may be corrupted. Can also see the CD ROM in SAFE MODE, but I can't see the CD ROM or C:\ drive in regular mode. Using Windows Explorer to look at drives, folders, and files
