Possibly Related Errors, Scripts and MMC

I have a computer that for the most part runs ok. i cannot get into

the services window no matter how i try to get there. i always get

the "do you want to continue running scripts on this page message" and

cannot do anything but end now in task manager which causes the

services screen to close. I get this same thing when i try to print

an email in outlook express. The scripts error window offers no clues

as to what is actually going wrong. I don't know if it is related

but, I've also noticed that i can no longer get to the windows update

site. Is there anything I can do short of a reinstall of windows xp

home?

Something new, I tried to do start-run\mmc and the mmc opens. I can

add the services snap-in but when i try to access it i get an error

saying c:\windows\system32\compmgmt.msc (cant remember exact file

name) is missing or i dont have permission to access it. I have

checked and the file is there.

Thanks in advance for any help.

1st open internet options, advanced, unchk the box "display script errors",

locate & chk "disable script debugger" locate & chk,"disable other" found

under

the disable script debugger, close out. Also, mmc for xp has an update, its

version 3.0,try downloads,type in mmc
