Guest Sampathn Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 One of our company laptop user is getting a proxy authentication message frequently. He is using domain user account. The message is coming even though he doesn't want to browse the internet. And he can browse the internet without entering the password. Is this a result of spyware? Thx, Sampath

The only way to answer your question is for you to do some malware scanning on that box. http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware Since this is a company machine, it might be easier for you to just apply your workstation image that you made. How could I possibly answer that? Look to your security on the workstations and the domain controller and your edge security. Make sure all domain users are just standard users or further restricted by setting Group Policies. Make sure end users can't install anything. Etc. You can find best practices for security in a domain at TechNet. Malke -- MS-MVP Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic! FAQ - http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/#FAQ
