I want to format my hard drive. My computer will not recognize my WIN XP CD

to do a automatic bootup. I understand I can use 6 floppy disks. Where can

I find these disk?

Enter the BIOS setup and change the boot sequence accordingly.

Have you gone into the BIOS setup and made sure that the machine will

try to boot from the CD? It's not always set that way by default.

First check this link from my website:

http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org/how_do_i_enable_cdrom_support_i.htm

If the cd-rom is already enabled and your Windows CD is damaged you might

also like to look at this link:

http://xphelpandsupport.mvps.org/how_do_i_replace_a_lost.htm

The 6 floppy disks you refer to should be available on http://www.bootdisk.com. If

you do need to download the boot disks make sure you choose the correct

version, i.e., Home or Professional.
