glws Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 I have tried everything but cannot find this browser on my system so I can delete it any help will be appreciated. There is no listing of it as a search provider or add on but it comes up automatically at the bottom of my page. When I open any web. Very annoying Quote
KenB Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Hi and welcome to ExTS Download Revo from here: [scroll down to the bottom of the page to d/load the free version] click here Install and run it. It will list all software on your system. If Ask or Ask Jeeves is there - highlight it and click on "Uninstall" from the toolbar. When prompted if you select the "Advanced" option it will remove all traces. Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! glws Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 wont let t run Ask jeeves will not let this run as it says it will harm my computer. I want to get rid of ASK but I cannot find it. Quote
KenB Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Ask jeeves will not let this run as it says it will harm my computer. This is not right. It should not do this - I am no expert but this sounds like malware to me. Download MBAM from here: [click on Products in the toolbar - you want the free version] click here Install > Update and Run it. You may get redirected when you click on the download link - this is OK It will produce a log in Notebook. Copy this and post it here. If MBAM shows anything I will ask one of our security experts to advise further. Plastic Nev Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Hi, if Kens advice for removing it doesn't work, we could do with seeing this to get a better idea of where else to look for you. Windows 7 has a useful tool called "Snipping tool" you can use this to envelop the Ask Jeeves bit you are seeing and then save it as a JPG photo. To post the photo so we can see it, click the post reply button, then under the reply box click the "Go advanced" button. That opens a full editor and under that is an additional options section, click the "manage attachments" button to add the photo. Quote Need help with your computer problems?
