How do I set licensing server for Windows 2000 TS?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I installed W2K2000 TS CALs on the Windows 2003 licensing server. What

registry key I need to change to set the W2K3 licensing server for windows

2000 TS as the one win2K licensing server is dead?

Thank you.

Hi John:

You can not use win 2K3 Ts cals on a win 2K Srv. You need to get to the

clearing house and downgrade them to win 2K.

How to locate a telephone number for the Microsoft Clearinghouse

I believe that the OP stated that the 2000 license server was dead and

asking how to use the 2003 license server to issue the 2000 licenses.

This is certainly possible. The OP still has to call the Clearing House

to reissue the licenses, though. I don't recall how to make the 2000TS

servers know to go to the 2003 server if it's not on a DC....

Yes. That's what I want.

The w2K licensing server is dead and also is DC. Can we make windows 2000

TS(Citrix server) to get license from windows 2K3 licensing server which have

windows 2K TS CALs installed?

Interestingly, the windows 2K DC which is licensing server is dead. People

still can make connections to Citrix server with windows 2000 OS. Is this

right? How do I find out which licening server users use to connect windows

2K TS?

Thank you.

Interrestingly,

You can configure the preferred licensing server on the W2K TS and

point it to the 2003 LS:

239107 - Establishing Preferred Windows 2000 Terminal Services

License Server
