Guest PG Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 I have been having boot up problems, drives not showing up any longer, programs missing or files missing or not running errors. Intermittently I have bootup problems, then have to disconnect one SATA drive to get XP to load at all. I tried to install XP components again and it won't let me run setup. The CD-drive is reading since it opens the files but it won't run setup!? In addition, I had to do a system restore after I installed SP 3, so all of this started after the SP 3 was installed/updated. I also did a BIOS driver update thinking that might help with the bootup and HD not found problems, but it didn't help. I don't know what else to try or what else could be causing all this. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you for your immediate replies!

Guest Kwmani Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 Re: various windows xp problems after SP 3 update I was having a similar problem with HDD's not being recognized on bootup. I reseated the cable and viola the problem has vanished. Got this from another poster here on the groups. Ken "PG" wrote: > Thanks for the reply and info.
