Guest Geoff Schaller Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 I am after some general ideas here. We've set up a standard EBS environment with 3 boxes: management server, messaging and security server. Cool. Then we thought we would like a Terminal server and seeing that the management server box had 8GB of RAM, why not play around with virtualisation and put the TS in a VM rather than as a direct role on the management server. A few people think I am wasting my time so I am after some general opinion or experiences please on which option you might think is best: 1. Just put the TS role on the management server anyway. No HyperV. 2. Load the HyperV role onto the management server and put TS into a VM. 3. Create a core server with HyperV as the only role and then put TS and the management server into two VMs. Are we making mountains out of mole hills? The domain only has some 50 users and there will never be more than about 15 TS clients but does someone have some thoughts on this? Thanks, Geoff Schaller Software Objectives
