Guest Haris Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 I am using remote desktop to administer a Windows 2008 Enterprise server which does not have a terminal server installed. The remote desktop works fine most of the time but it seems to hang randomly. Sometimes it recovers but sometimes I have to disconnect and reconnect to get things working -- Haris

You activate Remote access and connect using RDP client. I'd suggest getting the latest RDP client and see if that helps. Also, check the event logs (server and workstation) for any errors.... -- Regards, Hank Arnold Microsoft MVP Windows Server - Directory Services
