Hi

After installing Win2008 DC+DNS+DHCP I check by the clients (WinXP) that

they got the right settings.

I noticed that they get (via DHCP server) under DNS Suffix Search List

mydomain.local twice ???

It's like

DNS Suffix Search List. . . . . . : mydomain.local

mydomain.local

Also under Node Type there is Unknown? (instead of Hybrid)

Where can these two settings be changed so that users will get correct

settings?

Regards,Miha

Re: win2008 dns suffix

Miha,

do you have DNS Suffix Search List (Computer Configuration/Administrative

Templates/Network/DNS Client) assigned via a GPO that applies to your

Windows XP clients?

Re: win2008 dns suffix

Hi Marcin,

Thanks for a tip. I have set as you suggestet under Computer

Configuration/Administrativ Templates/Network/DNS Client for default domain

policy

- Primarx DNS Suffix

- DNS Suffic Search List

to mydomain.local, now it's displayed correctly (only once).

Where can I change 'node type' from unknown to the right one?

Regards,Miha
