Hello everyone, i done a system recovery on my laptop and now i cant change my screen brightness, adjust the resolution or connect to tv with hdmi anymore :-(

 

Before i done recovery i noted that my graphics card was an Intel HD graphics family but now it shows as a 'standard vga graphics adapter'

 

How can i find / install or whatever to get my laptop to use the Intel HD graphics family card that is inside my laptop ??

 

 

I have been on the intel website and done an hour trying all sorts of downloads but nothing works, can anyone help, i am using windows home premium 64 bit and laptop is samsung

Hi and welcome to FPCH, Ezzo.

If you can tell us the exact model of your laptop, we may be able to find the correct download for you.

 

You may also find them actually on the Samsung site, have you looked there?

 

Did you get any disks with the laptop, or was the recovery done using a DVD you burned from the computer when you bought it?

hello, i have a samsung np300, thanks :) The laptop came with a recovery disk and thats what i used but ive tried searching for the driver on that but no luck :(

I see 20 US and 4UK models for the np300 series.

 

Can you be more specific. For instance np300e5ai

I had a similar issue when installing a graphics card in my new PC. There is a setting in the BIOS that probably needs to be changed. When you did the system restore, it probably changed the BIOS setting back to where the comp is reading the onboard graphics instead of the card. This early in the morning (my time, mid-USA :)) I don't know where the install instructions are for my card, so I can't elaborate more than that. But I bet thefolks here like RandyL and Nev will know where to tell you to look.
