update failure

Dear all,

Sorry something happened re last two posts, now sending via correct

e-mail address!

 

I have a friends laptop that is set to download windows updates, but not

install them.

 

The Laptop has Windows XP on it with SP3 and internet Explorer 7.

 

Every time the following update downloads and I then say Install, it

fails. I have told Windows not to notify me about this update, but it

keeps coming back.

The patch appears to date from June 2008 :-

 

Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer for Windows XP (KB953838)

 

I search on Microsoft, but cannot find any help with this problem, can

anyone help please?
