igrek001 Posted March 12, 2012 Author Posted March 12, 2012 I did, what you recommended (several time already) and it found exactly the same, what you sent me in post #18. Unfortunately, I can't make and show here the copy, sorry... Quote

igrek001 Posted March 12, 2012 Author Posted March 12, 2012 the Wireless Zero Config was disabled, I change the Startup Type to Automatic.... after rebooting computor, the Network connections disappeared at at all (no icon and the blank screen when I click Network Connection in Control Panel. Quote
KenB Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Hi, I assume that you have the Wireless Adapter in at all times ? Your Belkin may not allow Windows to auto configure your Wireless Connection. This explains: http://compnetworking.about.com/od/windowsxpnetworking/a/automaticwifixp.htm This is the important sentence: In the Wireless Network Connection properties window, do you see a "Wireless Networks" tab? If not, your Wi-Fi network adapter lacks so-called Windows Zero Configuration (WZC) support, and the built-in Windows XP automatic wireless configuration feature will remain unavailable to you. Do you see the "Wireless Networks Tab" ? If not - go back and disable Wireless Zero Configuration in Services. igrek001 Posted March 12, 2012 Author Posted March 12, 2012 now something happened with computor: there isn't Internet connection icon (small monitor) on the bottom bar....when I click Network connection in the Control Panel, no any connection shows, just empty screen... even after I disabled Wireless Zero Configuration back, Inetrnet connection icon and Network connection didn't appeared... so, I even can't to check the Wireless Networks tab... igrek001 Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 after I changed the status of Wireless Zero Configuration to 'Automatic', something happened with my Network Connection: it disappeared... and even after I disabled the WZC, network connection didn't appeared.... and 'Connection to' in main Menu also disappeared.... when I open the Services, there appears message: 'Configuration Manager: The Plug and Play service or another required service is not available.' When I tried to open Network Connection, got message: 'The Internet Connection Wireless couldn't configure your computer to connect to Internet. KenB Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 If W_Z_C Service was the only one you disabled this would not affect the Plug and Play service. This is easily checked: Start > Run ....type in ....services.msc .....ENTER Scroll down to Plug and Play. This should be set to automatic. check this first - I need to look at my XP machine to confirm some of the other settings. ======================== What about post 34 ? ======================== You must mannualy set up your own TCP/IP protocol We can look at this after you make sure that Plug and Play is set up OK Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! igrek001 Posted March 14, 2012 Author Posted March 14, 2012 I checked Services and Plug and Play, as well as most Services are disabled. I changed the status of Plag and Play to 'automatic', but nothing changed in my Network Connection. And sure I can't follow to your post #34. Quote
KenB Posted March 14, 2012 Posted March 14, 2012 most Services are disabled This should certainly not be the case. Take a look here: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/sys_srv_default_settings.mspx?mfr=true Set them to the default settings. If they are disabled - something has done this - they don't change themselves. Let me know how the internet connection is after you make the changes. igrek001 Posted March 14, 2012 Author Posted March 14, 2012 thank you, after restoring services to default, it works, but still no Internet Connection. I tried your recomendation in post #34. My Wireless adapter Belkin G shows under Network Connections in the Device Manager. And my Wireless Connection IGREK listed in the list of available wireless. KenB Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 I am coming to the conclusion that the Belkin Adapter is at fault. Start > Run .....type in .....devmgmt.msc .........ENTER Click the + next to "Network Adapters" Right click on the Belkin Adapter > select uninstall. Reboot the machine. Windows should locate new hardware and attempt to install the drivers. You should have the original CD with the drivers on - you may need this. This does not confirm that the device is at fault - but if Windows does NOT detect it then it certainly does need replacing. igrek001 Posted March 15, 2012 Author Posted March 15, 2012 I reinstalled and reboot the computer. Afterward appears message: Window automatically reinstalled the device. Please restart the PC that the installation take in effect. I reboot the comp one more and then try to connect Internet. The same 'Acquiring Network address' or 'Not connected'. Actually I already tried this option (uninstalling the Belkin Adapter). Moreover, I bought another adapter - mini-Belkin N and installed it. Absolutely nothing changed and I returned it to the store. So, I don't think that the reason is in fault adapter. Under Network Adapters it shows 2 things: Belkin G adapter and Broadcom Netxtreme57xx Gigabit Controller. Maybe uninstall the second one??... KenB Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Is Wireless Zero Configuration enabled or disabled in Services ? Is it ? 1. Is the monitor icon showing bottom right of your screen ? 2. Try re-setting the router. Switch it off for 1 minute and switch back on. Are all of the LEDs lit? Especially the one indicating the Wireless Connection ? [This is the second from the left - it should be green] 3. There is a reset button at the back. Press this ( don't hold it down for long ) This will do a reset. Try the connection again. 4. Can any other wireless machine connect to your network ? 5. If you can't take the desktop down to the router - can you take the router to the desktop to try an ethernet connection ? igrek001 Posted March 17, 2012 Author Posted March 17, 2012 I tried both with disabled and enabled when made default services configuration... The monitor icon with red cross is on the bottom bar . After my manipulation was moment when the monitor icon shows without red cross, and when I click it, the window shows status as 'Connected' with good signal, but when I tried to open any browser, it still doesn't work - no Internet connection. I reset the Routor with switch off and then turn on: the all light became as before and my netbook works as usually. Then I reset the router with staple on backside and then tried to connect my computer, but without sucsess. The netbook connects to Internet on the both floor without problem. Unfortunately I can't bring the routor on the second floor, where located my desktop. Quote
