Terminal Server Will Not Allow Login

I have set up a Windows 2003 Terminal Server that part of a domain. When I

try to login I get the message...

"To log on to this remote computer, you must have Terminal Server User

Access permissions on this computer. By default, members of the Remote

Desktop User group have these permissions. If you are not a member of the

Remote Desktop Users group or another group that has these permissions, or if

the Remote Desktop User group does not have these permissions, you must be

granted these permissions manually."

I have verified that my domain login is part of the Remote Desktop User

group. I even loosened the security to include "domain users" and the local

box Administrator account to be part of that group. I even tried making all

Domain Users part of the local Administrators group but no go. i even tried

to logon as the local Administrator but same thing. What did I miss and what

can I check because this is driving me crazy.

Thanks!

is this a domain controller? confirm that Remote Desktop Users group has

the user right to "Allow logon to terminal services". if it's a domain

controller, you can also add them into "Logon Locally" right.

Re: Terminal Server Will Not Allow Login

This is NOT a domain controller but just another Windows 2003 server in a

Windows 2003 domain. Knowing this how do I verify "allow logon to terminal

services" has allowed Remote Desktop Users group (local to that computer)?

Remember to I also tried to login using the local Administrators group and

that failed as well.

Re: Terminal Server Will Not Allow Login

You use gpedit.msc to confirm the User rights for the server. Allow logon

through TS is a user right and remote desktop users should be assigned that

right.

Re: Terminal Server Will Not Allow Login

Local computer policy/computer configuration/windows settings/security

settings/local policies/user rights assignment/allow login through terminal

services.... shows "administrators, domain administrators and remote desktop

users" as members. In the Remote Desktop Users local group on this server is

also a membership for a domain security group I created for users who I want

access to ts. As I said my account is a domain admin account and it will not

work. I can't even log in using the local Adminstrators account which should

also work.

This one is stumping me. I must be missing something somewhere.
