Guest pcnerd Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 I recently reinstalled XP Pro & now Update doesn't work. Every time that I try to install updates, it fails. Why? What do I have to do to correct the problem? Thank you. David

I can't prove it but M$ collects info thru the updates as well as thru the "error report" scheme. You're fine.

Guest Barry Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 Re: Can't use Update Hi Have you also updated the Service Packs? I've been for the last 5 years, because nothing accesses the net that I don't know about, and no one accesses my computer besides the Shared Folder that I don't know about because I got a Firewall with all ports stealth and a process manager that makes sure nothing runs without my approval. You just gotta take control of the OS.
