Guest Francis Marsden Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 (XP Home, fairly new system) Sometimes-about 1 in 7 boot-ups or reboots- the windows splash screen starts out very faded, and remains very faded for a long time (much longer than the duration of splash in a normal boot). Only then does the splash reach normal brightness and then everything proceeds ok. Otherwise the comp works well. I am worried that this is a hardware problem that could get worse. Any suggestions?
