Windows cannot open this file

I tried to download a program that would enable me to save videos, but

Windows says:

"Windows cannot open this file.

File : video_downloadhelper-3.2-fx.xpi "

and then it goes on to say that I have to go to the web or select the

program from a list.

These are difficult things to do. What could be the solution?

TIA

It appears to be a firefox addon. Have you installed firefox or tried

their support?

Re: Windows cannot open this file

Sorry for the late reply. Your reply did not come to my newsgroup. It seems

to be broken. Can I do a repair?

Had to go to the microsoft website to look up your reply.

I did not install a firefox add on. God only knows how it got there. Is it

the cause of the problem? Where do I find it and shall I delete it?

Thanks

Re: Windows cannot open this file

The video downloader you are trying to install is actually an extension that

will only work if you have Firefox installed. If you want to use the video

downloader, install Firefox and then install the video downloader extension.

If you don't want Firefox, then you can't use the extension.
