Guest Analog_kidd Posted September 9, 2008 Posted September 9, 2008 My windows key combinations (alt-Tab; Winkey-R; etc) are not working in my remote desktop sessions to Win2003 servers. I have selectedthe option to Apply Windows Key Combinations within the client / Option / Local resources, but the setting never seems to take. The option is remembered between sessions or even reboots, and is saved in the default.rdp file, but it just never works. Any ideas?
Guest Analog_kidd Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Re: Apply Windows Key Combinations not working Yes, I tried maximized and windowed. I even set the Apply Win Key Combination setting to just the remote window and still I get the client responding to the hot key. One new development, occasionally within the remote desktop session, when typing (inside notepade for instance) if I press an "E" all by itself with no other keys such as alt, win-key, etc., then Windows Explorer pops up showing the Drives of the remote machine. This is exactly what I want it to do when pressing the Windows key + e, but this is just pressing the "E", which prevents me from typing. The only way to clear it is to press the Windows key several times, then it goes back to my original problem, where hotkeys go to the client not the remote desktop screen. I have replaced my keyboard and that did not help at all.
