Acronis TrueImage Workstation Echo, with the Universal Restore option, can

image the entire computer so you can restore it to the other. You'll need

the disk controller driver handy when you do the restore.

Using WinXP's FAST Wizard, by MVP Gary Woodruff (Please read the caveats

about Outlook Express)

....I'd agree with that except for the inclusion of 'apps' in the OP's

request. ;-)

Simply run the file transfer wizard from the xp cd,start wizard, select files/

data/etc to transfer, collect data in new folder you created, once thru, move to

cd.Set the FTW in "old computer" mode to collect data...

Re: transfer XP

Another possibility is Laplink's PC Mover.

Re: transfer XP

As I already stated, this is incorrect, if you use something like Laplink's

PC Mover. (You're a bit behind the times). Of course, that said, a

clean install is best, but it isn't really necessary.
