"Download complete": how do I learn from WHERE?

When WinXP finishes a download, the downloading dialog displays

"Download Complete" and gives the name of the host from which the file

was downloaded, e.g., "www.blahblah.com".

THE QUESTION: Is there any log file maintained or other way to

determine the exact address or URL from which the file was downloaded?

(Why do I ask? I am using a "friendly" tool provided by a vendor in

which I click on needed data files from a list presented as a Flash (!)

item in a browser. It downloads only a single file at a time, it takes

forever to get everything I need, and it's prone to human error as I

spend hours in this zombie-like ritual. I want to automate this by

creating a script or program to simply download the files I need

directly instead of going through that nonsense.)

THANK YOU for any advice!

The address bar in Internet Explorer indicates the current URL/Site.

But it sounds as though the OP wants to automate a whole bunch

of downloads, and be able to discover later on where, precisely,

each actually came from.

Re: "Download complete": how do I learn from WHERE?

He wants to use a download manger which will keep track of these downloads

for him. There are a few around, but names escape me, Net Transport maybe.

Firefox also remembers the URL from whence a file came, but it doesn't keep

a list you can refer to directly.
