KenB Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Before one of our security experts comes along I have one or two questions: 1. How do you know you have a trojan ? 2. If you think you have malware on your system then DO NOT use that particular computer for internet banking or any similar transactions. 3. If you suspect that you DO have a trojan then contact your banks / card companies etc. and explain to them and ask their assistance. Change your passwords at the very least. 4. Download MBAM from here; [ click on Products ....scroll down ....you want the free version] [ You may get redirected to a mirror site ...this is OK ] http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_pro Install > Update > Run it It will produce a log in Notepad - copy this and post it here. One of our security experts will advise further. Quote There is an email going around offering processed pork - gelatin - and salt in a can ......this is simply SPAM !! etavares Posted March 20, 2012 Posted March 20, 2012 Hi babyface- Without knowing exactly what virus, hard to say. But, if there is a cookie (e.g. you saved your password) it could steal it. If you log in/log out all the time, then it wouldn't have access to it. What makes you sure you go the trojan AFTER logging out though? It could be on your computer for a while before it's detected. For example, new definitions could be downloaded that then detects it. I would monitor that credit card for a while to be safe and ensure that there are only legitimate charges to it. But, please do answer KenB's question and run MBAM. -etavares Quote etavares is a member of:Alliance of Security Analysis ProfessionalsUnified Network of Instructors and Trained Eliminators
