Guest andy woods Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Hi Can anyone please help? My laptop keeps turning off during system processes such as burning a CD or performing a virus or spyware scan. Many thanks! Andy

If the problem is getting worse, that's a stronger indication - these parts don't heal. Unfortunately, it can be hard (expensive) to locate exactly which component has cooked and failed, and even then, laptops are often fixed by way of motherboard replacement. Sorry to say, you likely need to start thinking about system replacement, or the system's warranty if it still applies. HTH -pk
