Hi Can anyone please help?

My laptop keeps turning off during system processes such as burning a CD or

performing a virus or spyware scan.

Many thanks!

Andy

Perhaps it is heat related. Can you see/clean the vents?

If the system turns off and does not attempt to restart, this is very often

due to hardware failure, perhaps caused by heat. If the problem is getting

worse, that's a stronger indication - these parts don't heal.

Unfortunately, it can be hard (expensive) to locate exactly which component

has cooked and failed, and even then, laptops are often fixed by way of

motherboard replacement.

Sorry to say, you likely need to start thinking about system replacement, or

the system's warranty if it still applies.
