Rachelnov Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Hi there, can anyone help me. ? I have a fairly new Advent Desktop PC with Windows xp.and cannot get it to work. I have a "No signal" message on my monitor when it eventually comes on and it keeps rebooting itself over and over again. and showing a message no signal The Microsoft windows sign does appear but them it reboots and switches off and asks if i want to log on in safe mode..which i have tried and it doesnt seem to work. I wonder if it could be a Virus or power surge problem as i have recently used a different power cable ? Thanks Rachel Quote

Guest Wolfeymole Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Are you clicking on the Start Windows normally? Click the Safe Mode option Quote
Rachelnov Posted December 28, 2007 Author Posted December 28, 2007 Hi i have tried clicking on the safe mode option and it still doesnt work just keeps re-booting and saying no signal mode thank you Quote
Guest Wolfeymole Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Ok it seems to me that your graphics has died, do you have onboard graphics or a stand alone card in your pc? Quote
Rachelnov Posted December 28, 2007 Author Posted December 28, 2007 on board graphics i believe what does that mean - do i need to purchase something new for it Many Thanks Quote
Seth Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 You mentioned that the computer was fairly new. Is it under warranty? Here are a couple more options: 1) From the boot menu, choose "disable auto restart on errors" if that option is listed. 2) From the boot menu, choose "VGA mode only".
