missing directory files

Due to total cockup I am now unable to access c drive (my docs, recycle etc)

etc through icons (resources files or sub-files missing) but can still access

all through run. Cannot find xp cd anywhere to repair. Restore to earlier

time and last good configuration do not solve the problem Any suggestions

please?

Thanks

I'm sorry but you'll need to get hold of an XP CD. You can borrow one from a

friend as long as it matches the version on your computer (XP

Home/Pro/Media Center retail/OEM).

Back up your data before you do anything else if you haven't already done

so. Then try a Repair Install. If the Repair Install doesn't work, then

whatever the "total c*ckup" was damaged your operating system beyond repair

and you'll need to do a clean install.
