Guest Mike M 91107 Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 When using Windows Explorer and navigating from folder to folder, I regularly have the navigation pane change the name of the first level of folders to "Desktop". I then have between 5 and 20 folders named "Desktop" however when you select the one with the computer icon you get "My Computer", recycle bin shows up as "Desktop", My network places shows up as "Desktop", etc. The only way to get it to show the correct folder names is to close the Explorer window and open a new one. Until it gets screwed up. I have seen this since the original Windows XP Pro came out and it is still here in Windows XP Pro SP3. Any ideas?
Guest Andrew Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 RE: Windows Explorer Navigation Pane shows Desktop, Desktop, Desktop, These are signs of a corrupted system install and/or memory. first run memtest86, and if it show no errors, do a repair install of Windows.
