Guest PT Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 On a number of websites, I note that WinXP has apparently memorized items like my name, email address, phone number, and logins. But it's also memorized some earlier misspellings. Is there, and if so where is a file which contains these items? Is it editable? -- PT

Start Run "regedit" Enter or click OK Use the find function Type in one of the misspelled names Let it search for it That will show you the location. :) You can delete that one item by right clicking on that one item and selecting delete. G³ - Windows > All Platforms + General: Registry Editing Warning: http://kgiii.info/windows/all/general/regedit_warn.html For some of them you can simply highlight them with the up/down arrow keys and press the delete button. (This is still while you're in the application, not in the registry editor.) -- Galen (Not Current MS-MVP) My Geek Site: http://kgiii.info Web Hosting: http://whathostingshould.be "In solving a problem of this sort, the grand thing is to be able to reason backwards. That is a very useful accomplishment, and a very easy one, but people do not practise it much. In the every-day affairs of life it is more useful to reason forwards, and so the other comes to be neglected. When the autocomplete list opens, use the up/down keys to select an unwanted entry, and press [Delete] (or [shift+Delete], depending on your browser). The entry should disappear. The location where autocomplete entries are stored depends on the browser you use. -- Mantas Mikulėnas <email = base64.decode("Z3Jhd2l0eUBjbHVlbmV0Lm9yZyA=")> PGP/GPG: 0xCA07F3A91C9F7C03 <http://rootshell.be/~grawity/> ASCII ribbon - against HTML email <http://www.asciiribbon.org>
