Issue after installing SP3

Recommended Posts

Since installing SP3, everytime I start my computer I get a "Stop Device" box

that says "This application will not run on this Operating System." It

doesn't tell me what application it is and there are no hardware problems

listed in the Device Manager. How can I find out what this application is?

Re: Issue after installing SP3

You could try running msconfig and having a look at what is running on

system start up.

Obviously you backed up your machine before applying the SP so you could

always roll back and see if that resolves the issue? At leaset you'll know

for sure then it was SP3 that caused it?

Regards,

Kev

Re: Issue after installing SP3

Free unlimited installation and compatibility support is available for

Windows XP, but only for Service Pack 3 (SP3), until 14 Apr-09. Chat and

e-mail support is available only in the United States and Canada. Go to

http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?gprid=1173 | select "Windows

XP" then select "Windows XP Service Pack 3"
