Guest JVRudnick Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 Learning here how to use windows Explorer to ftp data to our server, instead of using our FTP software. Seems pretty easy to do, but I've a question. w2k3 is supposed to allow you to both isolate or not, the user from all the folders in the vhosts folder, as I understand it. In setting up a simple FTP, I just used the Wizard and it ran fine...but I did note that when I tried to use same, I was asked for the id/pw and I had them for one of the sites on the server....but that made me wonder. When I'm using RDC on the server and settting up a new FTP service there, for a client whom I want to be isolated, I did NOT see anyway to create id/pw for them. Is there a way using IIS mgr in the console to do that? Did I miss it? Jim
Guest JVRudnick Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 RE: w2k3/IIS6 query on FTP logins? Sorry, maybe I didn't make myself clear here. What I want to know I suppose is HOW to setup new id/pw, on the w2k3 server itself for a client which I want to isolate from all other client folders? I did not see anyway to do that.... <grin> sorry to be so 'thick'! Jim "JVRudnick" wrote: > Learning here how to use windows Explorer to ftp data to our server, instead > of using our FTP software.
