Guest Camppine Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 RE: Screen turned sidways If a one year old changed the orientation, which happens often. Ctrl, Alt, and arrow key is usually the answer. Guest JS Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Re: Screen turned sidways Some graphics cards come with utilities or an option to rotate your display. Most likely to be found in the Display/Advanced option. You may also be able to turn off Display rotation so the problem does not happen again. Click on Start/Control Panel/Display/Setting Tab, Advanced button or it could be an Icon in the control panel specifically for the Video Card you have. The following may also work: CTRL+ALT+Up arrow or some similar key keyboard combination for some but not all video cards. How do I fix? After you fix it, you can turn off Hotkeys so it can't happen again. There should be an icon in the Notification area that lets you change the settings. If not, open Display Properties and look for the same options there. -- Joe =o)

The ability to rotate the screen image is a feature of your video card, to help it work with monitors that rotate to portrait orientation. Your one-year-old accidentally pressed Ctrl-Alt, and some arrow key. Rotate it back using those keys. -- Ken Blake, Microsoft MVP - Windows Desktop Experience Please Reply to the Newsgroup
