NTP Server did not respond

Recommended Posts

Posted

I am receiving a NTP Server did not respond, w32time event ID 11. I have

searched the support site and found the error but did not locate how I can

remedy this situation. I am running Windows Server 2000, service pack 4 with

all the latest Microsoft updates. This is a domain controller (one of three,

two of the domain controllers are windows 2000 and one is 2003).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Bruce,

Is this one the PDCEmulator?

Re: NTP Server did not respond

Hello Bruce,

Did you configure it to synchronize with an external time source?

Re: NTP Server did not respond

Meinolf,

Yes I do, I use atomtime, which updates the system clock on the DC.

Re: NTP Server did not respond

Meinolf,

Let me clarify my last statement: I did not configure the DC pre se, I

merely have

Atom Time running and set to update/adjust the system time on a daily basis.

Re: NTP Server did not respond

Hello Bruce,

I would recommend to configure the PDCEmulator to an external timesource:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc786897.aspx

Here you can find a list with time servers:

http://www.pool.ntp.org/

Also check out this one:
