Guest Bruce Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I am receiving a NTP Server did not respond, w32time event ID 11. I have searched the support site and found the error but did not locate how I can remedy this situation. I am running Windows Server 2000, service pack 4 with all the latest Microsoft updates. This is a domain controller (one of three, two of the domain controllers are windows 2000 and one is 2003). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. -- Bruce

Guest Bruce Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Re: NTP Server did not respond Meinolf, Yes I do, I use atomtime, which updates the system clock on the DC. -- Bruce "Meinolf Weber" wrote: > Hello Bruce, > > Did you configure it to synchronize with an external time source? > > See also here: > http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=11&eventno=754&source=w32time&phase=1 > > Best regards > > Meinolf Weber > Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers > no rights. > ** Please do NOT email, only reply to Newsgroups > ** HELP us help YOU!!! http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm > > > > Yes it is. > > > > "Meinolf Weber" wrote: > > > >> Hello Bruce, > >> > >> Is this one the PDCEmulator? > >> > >> Best regards > >> > >> Meinolf Weber > >> Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and > >> confers > >> no rights. > >> ** Please do NOT email, only reply to Newsgroups > >> ** HELP us help YOU!!! http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm > >>> I am receiving a NTP Server did not respond, w32time event ID 11. Guest Meinolf Weber Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 Re: NTP Server did not respond Hello Bruce, I would recommend to configure the PDCEmulator to an external timesource: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc786897.aspx Here you can find a list with time servers: http://www.pool.ntp.org/ Also check out this one: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/816042 http://blogs.msdn.com/w32time/default.aspx Best regards Meinolf Weber Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. ** Please do NOT email, only reply to Newsgroups ** HELP us help YOU!!! http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm > Meinolf, > > Let me clarify my last statement: I did not configure the DC pre se, I > merely have Atom Time running and set to update/adjust the system time > on a daily basis. > > "Meinolf Weber" wrote: > >> Hello Bruce, >> >> Did you configure it to synchronize with an external time source? >> >> See also here: >> http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=11&eventno=754&source=w32t >> ime&phase=1 >> Best regards >> >> Meinolf Weber >> Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and >> confers >> no rights. >> ** Please do NOT email, only reply to Newsgroups >> ** HELP us help YOU!!! http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm >>> Yes it is. >>> >>> "Meinolf Weber" wrote: >>> >>>> Hello Bruce, >>>> >>>> Is this one the PDCEmulator? >>>> >>>> Best regards >>>> >>>> Meinolf Weber >>>> Disclaimer: This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, >>>> and >>>> confers >>>> no rights. >>>> ** Please do NOT email, only reply to Newsgroups >>>> ** HELP us help YOU!!! http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm >>>>> I am receiving a NTP Server did not respond, w32time event ID 11. >>>>> I have searched the support site and found the error but did not >>>>> locate how I can remedy this situation.
