Guest PrinceOfAldan Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Hi, Since a few days ago, I have this problem: Whenever IE is open, the memory used by it is continuously growing, right now the memory used by IE is at 837MB and increasing. This is NOT adware/malware related! No malware of viruses on the system. This happens with ANY IE content, not a particular web site. When I minimize IE, the memory gets cleared, 837MB just changed to 16MB when I minimized it! The behavior is the same as many people have described here: http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2082917&SiteID=17 But there is no solution and I am posting here to see if I can get any attention! It basically crashes my system when it runs out of memory.

Despite your claim... Unexplained computer behavior may be caused by deceptive software http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827315 Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log to an appropriate forum. HijackThis will NOT fix anything on its own, but it will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with assistance from an expert. **Post your log to http://aumha.net/viewforum.php?f=30, http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22, http://spywarehammer.com/simplemachinesforum/index.php?board=10.0, or other appropriate forums for review by an expert in such matters, not here.** If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA or Geek Squad) computer repair shop. -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Desktop Experience - since 2002 AumHa VSOP & Admin http://aumha.net DTS-L http://dts-l.net/ PrinceOfAldan wrote: > Hi, > Since a few days ago, I have this problem: > Whenever IE is open, the memory used by it is continuously growing, right > now the memory used by IE is at 837MB and increasing. > This is NOT adware/malware related! > No malware of viruses on the system. > This happens with ANY IE content, not a particular web site. > When I minimize IE, the memory gets cleared, 837MB just changed to 16MB > when > I minimized it! > The behavior is the same as many people have described here: > http://forums.microsoft.com/TechNet/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2082917&SiteID=17 > But there is no solution and I am posting here to see if I can get any > attention!
