.wav files wont play - Error Message

Recommended Posts

I receive my Vonage phone messages as .wav files which worked fine and I

could open until about a month ago and the problem has not gone away. I have

the wav files associated with Windows Media Player (I have the latest version

which I think is WMP 11). When I try to open the file I get the following

error message:

"Can't create file: voice-message.wav. Right click the folder you want to

create the file in and then click Properties on the shortcut menu to check

for permissions for the folder."

When I attempt to save the .wav file in My Documents I get a similar

messsage that the attachment can not be saved and to right click on the

shortcut menu and check permissions.

I've gone completely nuts trying to figure this out. Dell tells me the

files may be corrupted (thats their best answer when they don't know). I

checked with Vonage who ran tests and concluded the wav files are not

corrupted. I can open them as wav files on my blackberry no problem.

Please HELP !!!!

Thank you. I will try that and let you know the result. Its bizarre because

I just discovered that I can open the files with WMP from my Yahoo mail

account but not from the same emails coming into my Outlook.
