Guest ianw Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 I'm trying to use ElephantDrive's TrunkDrive, a way of mounting their backup server as a drive on my PC using, I believe, windav. It is not however working and its been suggested that the reason is that my WebClient service is stuck in STOPPING status. I tried setting it to be started manually and, after reboot was able to start it and immediately received the message that it had started and stopped, though the status remains "STOPPING". Presumably I need to get this to stay started in order to use webdav services. Can anyone suggest what might be wrong? XP Pro+SP3. ian ....

Microsoft has been "threatening" to turn this protocol off since they believe it will stop a huge number of SPAM emails from being sent out (especially if sent thru Hotmail.) I am not certain if they done this yet?
